PAINTBALL: fREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Question 1 : Does getting hit with a paintball really hurt?
Answer: This is the #1 question that we get asked. The answer to that question is..... yes and no.
Whether or not getting shot with a paintball hurts depends upon where on the body you get hit, what angle the ball strikes you, how fast (velocity) it was going, and of course, the distance between you and your enemy.
So yes, while getting shot can definitely leave welts or marks, most paintball injuries occur when someone puts themselves in a bad position, tries to be a hero, or ends up getting ambushed by someone way too close by.
The first time you play paintball you’ll probably be wary of getting hit. You won’t know what it feels like, and you’ll wonder if you can take it. My best advice is not to worry about it, because you can. Most paintball hits feel like thumps or quick snaps against your body.
If you are a first time player we highly recommend starting off with our "Low Impact Play" rental equipment. It is 68% less impact than all other types of paintball. Less pain = more Fun! !
Question 2 : What is the difference between Standard Play and Low Impact Play?
Answer: Standard and Reduced Impact both use a .68 cal. size paintball. Low Impact uses a .50 cal. size paintball.
Standard Play is what is commonly considered the traditional playing format for rental groups. Each Standard Play Rental Package comes with 100 .68 cal. Field Grade paintballs. These paintballs are generally a firmer shell and have a lower price point for those on a budget. All markers velocities are set to a maximum of 250 FPS (feet per second). This style of play is recommended for players who have played several times before.
Low Impact Play is the lowest impact option for our rental players. Each Low Impact Play Rental Package comes with 100 .50 cal. paintballs. These paintballs are much smaller in size than a .68 cal. paintball and have the same fragile nature as a Tournament Level .68 cal. paintball. By combining these two features, players are able to play paintball for the first time with 68% less impact than using a traditional .68 cal. paintball rental. Less pain = more Fun!!
This style of play is recommended for younger first time players or those who have never played paintball before.
Question 3 : What should I wear to play paintball?
Answer: Each player should come dressed in long pants, a long sleeved shirt or hoodie, old shoes or boots, a beanie or baseball cap and thin gloves (if you have them). Players should not wear "good" clothes to play paintball. Players will be sliding in grass, diving in mud, crawling through brush, getting splattered with paintballs, etc... It is highly recommended that players wear "old" clothes that are okay if they get torn, ripped or ruined.
Players should also dress for the weather. If it's going to be cold, wear extra layers. If it's going to be hot, you should still wear long sleeves and extra layers. If you get to hot when playing you can always take a layer off to get more comfortable. However, if you are playing in the cold and you don't have extra layers....It could be a very long and cold experience.
Question 4 : Do l have to fill out a waiver of release form?
Answer: At our field each player (regardless of age) must fill out a waiver of release form every time they come out to play paintball.
All players under the age of 18 must have their waiver completely filled out, signed and dated for the correct day of play by their parent or legal guardian or they will not be permitted to play. Players over the age of 18 can fill out their own waiver of release form.
Question 5 : How old do l have to be to play paintball?
Answer: Players using .68 cal. rental equipment or playing in games where other players are using .68 cal equipment, you must be at least 10 years of age.
Players using .50 cal. rental equipment or playing in games where other players are using .50 cal. equipment, you must be at least 8 years of age and have a parent or legal guardian on site at all times.
Question 6 : Does the paint from the paintballs wash out?
Answer: Yes. Our paint is completely washable. You may want to bring something to put on the car seat for the drive home.
Question 7 : Can I bring my own paintballs?
Answer: No. Dimension Paintball is a FPO (field-paint-only) field. That means that we do not allow outside paintballs on our fields. We provide a quality Entry Level paint or Tournament Level paint options. This policy is in place to ensure we comply with state environmental standards.
Question 8 : How much paint will I use?
Answer: All players play the game differently, so each person uses a different amount of paint. Most players will make do with however much (or little) they have. We've found that the average player uses about 500-700 paintballs in an afternoon of play (some will use more, some will use less). The best thing to do is purchase paint by the case, if possible, since the cost per case is the least expensive way to get additional paintballs. If you have any paintballs left over, you're welcome to take them home with you and bring them back for use next time you play.
Question 9 : Do you take credit cards?
Answer: Yes. We accept Visa, Mastercard, and Discover. We do not accept American Express.
Question 10 : Is there food or drinks available?
Answer: Yes. There are snack machine and soda machines. You're welcome to bring your own food and/or refreshments, except alcohol, to Dimension Paintball. We ask that you don't bring anything in glass containers.
Question 11 : How long does it usually take to play paintball?
Answer: Play times can vary from group to group. Most groups of 8-12 players usually are at our field for 2 1/2 to 3 hours on average.
